Established in June 2021 on the LSBC campus in San Antonio, Texas, CAC started with piano and vocal classes. In just 18 months, the conservatory now instructs over 100 students each week and offers additional classes in guitar, percussion, and ukulele.
Lyn's education includes classical and contemporary music studies, culminating in the Royal Conservatory of Toronto's highest academic standing, the Certificate Program Associate Diploma (ARCT) in Piano and Pedagogy. She also holds a Bachelor of Music in Interdisciplinary Studies and a Master of Arts in Music Business from Berklee College of Music, Boston.
Starting her teaching career at 16, Lyn discovered her passion and maintained a teaching studio for over 30 years. Specializing in classical piano, she imparts her expertise to both beginner and advanced students. Lyn is a certified member of the RCM in Elementary and Intermediate Piano and Theory and a member of TMTA and MTNA.
Apart from teaching, Lyn undertakes accompanist contracts for schools, community theaters, and churches. With experience directing bands and ensembles and performing in numerous musical theater shows, she also produces accompaniment tracks for vocal instructors and students preparing for auditions.
Teaching Approach:
Understanding that each student has unique goals and preferences, Lyn tailors lessons to the individual rather than following a fixed curriculum. Emphasizing proper technique as essential, she ensures that each student's musical journey is engaging and fulfilling. Lyn encourages exploring various genres and eras to keep students inspired and eager to learn.
