Andrew Basler

Andrew Basler graduated with a music degree from The University of New Mexico in 2003. Andrew’s primary instrument is Saxophone but he has experience with all wind instruments. Andrew then completed his teaching certification for New Mexico and in 2009 he moved to the state of Texas where he taught for San Felipe Del Rio CISD for 14 years. During those 14 years, Andrew achieved multiple superior ratings at band contests and solo competitions. Throughout all the years of teaching, Andrew has taught beginning students and experienced students.

The style of teaching Andrew implements is focused on the consistent reinforcement of all muscle memory and mental knowledge to ensure students learn more than just the music in the moment. The musical skills students learn allow for self reliance in the future not just as a musician, but as contributors to society in the future. Music is more than entertainment and fun. Music is a vital gift to people from God. If music is used as God created it, the student can be molded into a more perfect human being.
